The Municipality of Digby’s Temporary Water Relief Program officially concluded on December 31, 2025.
The program was implemented in response to prolonged dry conditions that caused many residents to experience dry or low-yield wells, creating challenges in accessing safe drinking and cooking water. The goal was to provide short-term relief to households affected by clean water shortages. The program was delivered in a practical and efficient manner, allowing support to reach households quickly while working closely with local retailers.
Over the course of the program, the Municipality of Digby distributed 2,247 water vouchers, helping residents access much needed bottled water.
We would like to thank the local businesses who participated in the program, as well as residents for their cooperation and understanding. Most importantly, we recognize the ongoing challenges that dry conditions can bring and we continue to work on ways to alleviate this issue.
